Travertine for Master Bath and Laundry

    Hi, New to posting so pardon my naivete. We are doing a master bath and (http://maplered.com) laundry room area. Bath includes a 8 x 5 foot steam shower. We have been trying to find a porcelain that is like travertine but alas that just doesn't seem possible. Nothing has the depth of travertine. We have been frightened away from it b/c we have 3 large dogs (one is a Newfoundland (http://maplered.com) ) so we were worried about scratches in the travertine, people said you can't put trav. in a steam shower, and (http://maplered.com) I have a tendency to spill coffee. That being said, I still love travertine. I know there are differences in acidity and (http://maplered.com) porosity from reading this cite so maybe there is a travertine even for me. I saw a travertine I loved the look of--it was called paredon and (http://maplered.com) my research said it was from Mexico and (http://maplered.com) was very dense--is dense a good thing? Would you recommend trav. for us in our situation? If so, what trav. would you recommend that would have the look of paredon. I know travertine survived at the collisieum but can it stand (http://maplered.com) up to my dogs and (http://maplered.com) me? Please help as we need to purchase something very very soon if I am ever to get a decent shower.
